NEW RESOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR - TAKING ONE STEP AT A TIME

The beginning of a new year can give us a breath of fresh air, but at the same time, it can put a lot of pressure on us.

I think we all wrote down our resolutions for the new year already. We feel so committed to putting them into action from day one. New beginnings indicate that we can start again fresh. We are convinced this year we will make it the best one. We feel that we have all the energy needed and, we are ready for what is coming!

What if all the resolutions that you wrote on your list are putting a lot of pressure from the beginning? Are the new resolutions that you set your mind on, the ones that you truly wish to have on your list? Is the list too long?

I think that most of us think. " Oh, there is no problem! I am sure that I can achieve all this and everything will be great."

Staying focused on the positive outcome is the best way to accomplish all your resolutions, but with the days and the months passing, if you do not succeed in keeping them, the pressure is starting to settle in. I strongly advise you not to pressure yourself into doing everything in full speed mode. Do not hurry to check all the new resolutions! Putting pressure on yourself can rapidly change in slow mood resolution completion, or in some cases giving up on most of them. I think you should take your time and repeat it to yourself: "Take one step at a time!".

Keep this in your mind! Rome was not built in a day! When we do things wisely and take one step at a time, we stay more focused. The stress levels are down and we keep on working on our resolutions. At the end of the day, the important part is not how long it takes to reach the end of our resolutions, but how to reach the outcome.

We live in an era of everything needs to be achieved as quickly as possible and the more, the better.  Do we take time to enjoy the process of doing things? We even manage not to see the time passing and often we forget to pause, breathe and take time for ourselves.

I say that beautiful things are made when we cherish the present moment. When we put our hearts into creating something or enjoy the present moment while we make it, we pour our positive energy and love into it.

If you chose that one new resolution for this new year is to be out in nature more or create something with your hands, take one step at a time, enjoy the process, enjoy the present moment, do it with love and do not hurry! Every second of the process is important. Nothing brings more joy than being fully present.

Concentrating on your breathing allows you to feel your breathing process. The same thing is with all the other things in our lives. Things done halfway or partly are like things not done at all.

So, do not put pressure on yourself to reach rapidly as many resolutions as possible during this new year. Enjoy the process and take one step at a time. Your life is to be lived in your rhythm, not the rhythm which is imposed on you by external factors. Trust your own heart and focus on what is best for you. The answers are within yourself.

Keep in mind that fewer resolutions that bring well-being in your life are the ones that are beneficial for you.

How can you reach the final part of your resolutions?

1. Focus on the resolution that is most important and dear to you.

2. Tell yourself that you do not have to do everything concerning it in a month, two or six months .

3. When you focus on working on your resolutions always tell yourself:  "Take one step at a time."

4. Remind yourself daily that you are enjoying the process and appreciate each moment of your journey.

5. Always think that giving up is not a solution.

6. Reflect on everything that you accomplished and be grateful for your commitment to yourself.

7. Journal the process of bringing your resolutions closer to where you want them to be.

Life is not meant to be lived on how high we scored on our new year resolutions. Resolutions are good if they do not take the space that is destined for living your life as it unfolds. Resolutions should keep us focused on improving our lives and creating a life that is worth living. Hopefully, your resolutions will help you build a " Rome " that is worth living in.

May this year bring you harmony and alignment in reaching the end of your new year's resolutions.
