the art of living

I will start by addressing one simple question. What comes first to your mind when you hear the notion of "the Art of Living"? This complex subject needs a lifetime to debate, I believe, or maybe not. It all depends on how you see living through this art or if you see living as an art. The art of living encapsulates all there is and exists. How to exist and just be? That is a question that most of us want a clear and bold answer to it. I am sure you must have been reflecting on this subject.

I would like you to reflect on this question as often as you can:  "How can I explore daily the art of living?"
The art of living is a rare, magnificent art that is so difficult to find nowadays. Few people still explore it. This ephemeral art is one of the rarest arts found on this beautiful planet. I believe there is no price to be able to acquire it except if one is willing to "buy" it for free. The art of living belongs to those who wish to live life as it unfolds.

We have forgotten how to live, how to breathe, and how to exist. We are so focused on things that have no importance. It seems we are not able to come out of this vicious circle. We forgot to enjoy life as it is.

We are always searching for something new, for that amazing new thing that might be captivating our attention. We are getting easily "bored" with everything that surrounds us. We are mesmerized by the illusion that life should be lived in a specific way. We forget to live in our specific human way. We forgot the taste of real food. We forgot to have meaningful and honest conversations. We lost the authentic connection as people.

Why? Why have we forgotten the key elements of this beautiful art? We forgot to live in the present, without any concerns and believe that today is just another wonderful day to live simply.

Why is it so difficult to leave behind the things that do not serve us that could free us from the heavy weight on our shoulders? Because the truth is that we are not bothered as much. It is so comfortable being where we are. We manage to be content with less, but when I say less, I mean less of ourselves.

We lose our identity as humans along the way, and we start to live an automatic life with an automatic pilot that "guides" our lives. The art of living is the opposite of all that is automatic, planned, carried so perfectly and well thought out. The art of living means caring for your life, cherishing it, living it, adoring it, and valuing it, just the way it is. Living a small part of the art of living is having a cup of tea on a comfortable sofa, reading your favourite book and being grateful for that specific moment. Another important element of this art is having wholesome homemade meals with your family and friends.

The art of living is taking the time to explore and decorate our house with organic elements from nature or handmade objects made by artisans. We should learn to leave behind the artificial décor that we accepted so easily throughout time. Laughing and having long conversations with our loved ones should be made our priority. Forgetting about your phone or social media. Enjoying a concert without wanting to take pictures or video record it. Just living that unique moment with those around you. Making memories you will never forget because you lived that moment fully with those that you love the most.

Of course, you can always document them in writing. When you will read all your life experiences in your journal, you will remember the exact moments as they were. You will even feel the exact emotion and energy that you experienced at that time in your body. The art of living is caring for yourself and your body when it asks you to. Go into nature and nurture yourself as long as you can. Feel every breeze, feel the drops of rain on your skin and the sun rays caress your face. We all know what the art of living is, but we have forgotten about it the moment we became "adults" and along the way, we forgot about our inner child.

We always tend to leave it behind and tell ourselves: "We are grown-up now!" We have to be responsible and take care of adult important matters.

You are a responsible human being, but always ask yourself:  "How many of those responsibilities are vital? Do they take away your time to enjoy living your best life? Do they encourage you to truly live?"

When we forget to live, we lose a part of ourselves and the longer we let that happen the longer we will distance ourselves from living a meaningful life. We will continue doing so until we will leave far behind a life with purpose, a life well lived, a real raw human life.

The art of living includes everything that you choose to experience to be able to feel alive. It can start with refilling your lungs with fresh air, connecting to nature to having restful moments.

When you wake up in the morning you will be eager to live your days just as they happen. You will embrace every experience as it comes because you will know that this is a part of you, part of your journey, and part of living a well-lived life.

Try to reflect and imagine yourself at an older age. Ask your older self: "Have I accessed every area of this beautiful art? Have I lived a great life? Have I lived well? Have I done all that a human being can do to eventually feel the raw human experience? Have I embraced my life fully?"

Ponder these questions and answer them in all sincerity. Exploring the art of living throughout all the chapters of your human journey will tell you that you live a good life. All the chapters of your life are meant to bring you to the completion of your perfect evolution.

Embrace your life and live it in the best possible way. Try to accept all your downfalls and your success. The art of living is the art of being the human that you were intended to be. Your body and your soul already know this art "BY HEART" from the moment you came into existence. Honour it and live it well.
