grow and tend to your mind's garden

With the arrival of spring, everyone is starting to organize and prepare their garden. Spring invites us to plant seeds, plant our flower garden and tend to it. This garden will sustain our physical lives and it will give us all the nutrients we need to function well as humans. Gardening offers us the gift of being in nature more throughout the warm seasons. It gives us support. it rewards us with all we need to feel well and content with what we have sown.

As with the physical garden, it is vital to remember as well to grow the garden of our minds and take care of it.
This garden is something special. It is a garden that needs to be tended to not only during spring and summer. This wonderful garden needs care throughout the four seasons of the year and the whole duration of our lives.

This garden is our most precious one because it is a garden that we can grow and care for constantly. Even though this garden needs to be taken care of every day of our lives, we need to be rest assured that it will give a bountiful crop if it’s grown wisely.
How can we grow this mysterious and wonderful garden? I believe that most of us already know the answer. By planting the  "best organic seeds, non-modified, pure and healthy ones".

We were always led to believe that how we came into this world and how we were taught to be is how we should be all of our lives. I tend to believe, that all we were taught in our childhood can be untaught, if not, maybe see things from a different perspective and question it. The way we were used to being is not always how we should continue our way and do things.

We can change the architecture of our mind’s garden. We can always replant new seeds and help them grow so we can flourish as the best version of ourselves.

Dr Jeffrey M. Schwartz and Sharon Begley’s (a Wall Street science columnist) groundbreaking work argues the conventional science that states that the mind is an illusion and it is just an electrochemical activity in the physical brain. They also demonstrate through their work that the human mind is an independent entity that can shape and control the functions of the physical brain.

If we use our innate wisdom, I believe we can all conclude that we can change how we think and do things in our daily lives. Each one of us can design the architecture of our mind’s garden and give it proper care and water it daily. Growing our mind's garden is the way to cultivate a state of well-being.

We can all start by cultivating positive thoughts and doing positive actions toward ourselves and all those around us. If we choose to read constructive books it will help us evolve. Ignoring those with less interesting topics will save us time, and will help us become more mindful of what we should read.

Doing actions that can make us reflect on what we should change in our lives and build healthy routines, like journaling or just writing reflections about our environment. You might also write about your interactions with those around you and reflect upon them. Tending to the garden of our minds is reflecting more on our inner state rather than focusing on other people’s actions or behaviours.

Remember that watering is one of the most important parts of keeping your mind’s garden growing.

When you return to your old habits and forget to care for your mind's garden, try to refocus and return to where you left off and
continue cultivating healthy routines. One of the healthiest routines that I recommend for attending to your mind’s garden is being out in nature. Reconnect with your thoughts and clear your mind.

Similar to the physical garden, it needs cleaning and reshaping when  "storms are passing by". Know that all is natural, and it is okay. Try to accept it, do all the necessary work and keep it healthy.

Your mind is miraculous. It always listens to what you say to it. Always try to give it the most nutritious " food " so it can grow and expand.  You will be able to see the transformation in your life and the miraculous things that will happen.

"Mens sana in corpore sano" which translates as  "A healthy mind in a healthy body." is your invitation to practice physical fitness and benefit the mind, as well as the body.

Choose healthy routines that enrich your state of mind. Try to be mindful of what you consume and for how long. Healthy thoughts contribute to a healthy mind. Be grateful for your life, your unique life story, your family, your loved ones and your courage to cultivate the garden of your mind.

Always remember. What we sow is always what we reap. Focus on finding the best seeds AND PLANT THEM so you can have one healthy green garden of your mind. Cultivating and caring for your mind's garden is cultivating and caring for a healthy and whole life.
